About
Hilary Olson has been teaching, conducting research and managing outreach programs at The University of Texas at Austin since 1996. Her past research and academic professional experience include the Mobil Oil Corporation Research Laboratory and the Institute for Geophysics, Jackson School of Geosciences, at UT Austin.
Olson is the director of the Energy Excursions project and leads education, training and outreach programs to address the areas of unconventional resources and CO2 storage, with audiences ranging from state and federal regulators to the public. The professional development activities in the Choose Energy K–12 outreach program at PGE are focused on energy and Earth science education and have received support from the National Science Foundation and the Department of Energy.
Olson’s technical research integrates biostratigraphic and paleoenvironmental data (foraminifera), core, well-log and seismic data to examine the Earth’s stratigraphic record.
