About
Yingda Lu joined UT PGE in 2020 after serving as a faculty member at China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and as a research associate at the University of Tulsa. He teaches courses in thermodynamics, production engineering, surface production facilities, flow assurance and emerging energy pipeline systems, including hydrogen and CO₂ transportation.
Lu’s research focuses on improving the safety, reliability and efficiency of pipeline transportation systems for hydrocarbons and emerging energy carriers, including oil, natural gas, CO₂ and hydrogen, supporting both oil & gas production and the global transition toward cleaner energy. His research employs a multiscale approach that integrates experimental investigations with advanced computational methods across microscopic, mesoscopic and macroscopic length scales. The overarching goals are to uncover the fundamental physics governing complex transport phenomena, develop predictive models and translate these insights into practical solutions for energy infrastructure and industrial applications.
