First-year Fall Retreat

The First-year Fall Retreat (FFR) is a required event hosted for newly admitted UT PGE undergraduate students. At the retreat, we introduce all incoming fall-semester students, including freshmen and transfers, to Longhorn spirit and pride and help you make connections with classmates, UT PGE faculty and staff, and industry representatives. And, of course, it's a chance to have fun before the start of fall classes!

2021 Retreat Info

Due to a rise in COVID-19 cases across Travis County, this year’s FFR, originally scheduled for two days, will now be held Monday, Aug. 23 on campus. Check-in begins at 8:45 a.m. on the CPE Lawn. All first-year students, as well as sophomores who missed the event last fall because of COVID-19, are invited to attend. We look forward to welcoming the Classes of ’24 and ’25, and have already started to reschedule the full two-day off-campus retreat for January 2022.

Most activities will take place outside, social distancing measures will be in effect for indoor activities, and we strongly encourage all participants to wear masks.
